REPUBLIC ACT No. 11224

An Act Establishing the Sarangani Sports Training Center in the Municipality of Alabel, Province of Sarangani and Appropriating Funds Therefor

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:

Section 1. Section 1. There shall be established in the Municipality of Alabel, Province of Sarangani, a sports training center to be known as the "Sarangani Sports Training Center", which shall be constituted as the primary sports development and training center for the Province of Sarangani.

Section 2. The Provincial Government of Sarangani and the Municipal Government of Alabel, in coordination with the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), shall take the necessary steps to upgrade, improve, and modernize existing facilities, equipment and personnel and integrate them into the newly created sports training center.

The Provincial Government of Sarangani and the Municipal Government of Alabel, in coordination with the PSC, shall create the necessary training programs, appropriate tournaments and competitions, as well as the system by which the facilities shah be maintained and managed in order to accomplish the objectives and purposes of this Act.

Section 3. The construction, establishment and operation of the Sarangani Sports Training Center shall be funded by the Provincial Government of Sarangani and the Municipal Government of Alabel, and such funds as may be granted by the PSC and by the Office of the President. In addition, grants and endowments may be obtained from local or foreign sources intended for sports development.

Section 4. The Chairman of the PSC shall immediately include in the Commission’s program the necessary funding requirements of the Sarangani Sports Training Center.1âwphi1

Section 5. The PSC, in coordination with the Provincial Government of Sarangani, the Municipal Government of Alabel, and other concerned stakeholders, shall promulgate the necessary rules and regulations for the implementation of this Act within ninety (90) days after its enactment into law.

Section 6. This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.

This Act was passed by the House of Representatives as House Bill No. 6130 on August 23,2017 and adopted by the Senate as an amendment to Senate Bill No. 1712 on November 28, 2018.
