[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6377, August 16, 1971 ]

AN ACT AMENDING REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED THIRTY-ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY-NINE, ENTITLED "AN ACT GRANTING THE VICTORIAS MILLING CO., INC., A TEMPORARY PERMIT TO CONSTRUCT, OPERATE AND MAINTAIN PRIVATE FIXED POINT-TO-POINT AND LAND-BASED AND LAND MOBILE RADIO STATIONS FOR THE RECEPTION AND TRANSMISSION OF RADIO COMMUNICATIONS WITHIN THE PHILIPPINES."

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. Section one of Republic Act Numbered Thirty-one hundred seventy-nine is hereby amended to read as follows:

"Section 1. There is hereby granted to the Victorias Milling Co., Inc., its successors or assigns, a temporary permit to construct, operate and maintain in Victorias, Occidental Negros and at such places in the Philippines as the said company may select, subject to the approval of the Secretary of Public Works and Communications, private fixed point-to-point and land-based and land mobile and coastal and maritime mobile radio stations for the reception and transmission of wireless messages on radiotelegraphy or radiotelephony, each station to be provided with a radio transmitting apparatus and radio receiving apparatus."

Section 2.  Section three of the same Act is hereby amended to read as follows:

"Section 3.  The grantee, its successors or assigns, shall not engage in domestic business of telecommunications in the Philippines without further special assent of the Congress of the Philippines, it being understood that the purpose of this temporary permit is to secure to the grantee the right to construct, install, operate and maintain private fixed point-to-point and land-based and land mobile and coastal and maritime mobile radio stations in such places within the Philippines as the! interest of the trade and business of the grantee may justify."

Section 3.  Section eight of the same Act is hereby amended to read as follows:

"Section 8. The grantee, its successors or assigns, is authorized to operate its private fixed point-to-point and land-based and land mobile and coastal and maritime mobile radio stations in the medium frequency, high frequency and very high frequency that may be assigned to it by the Secretary of Public Works and Communications."1âшphi1

Section 4. The title of the same Act is hereby amended to read as follows:

"An Act granting the Victorias Milling Co., inc., a temporary permit to construct, operate and maintain private fixed point-to-point and land-based and land mobile and coastal and maritime mobile radio stations for the reception and transmission of radio communications within the Philippines."

Section 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
