[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5870, June 21, 1969 ]

AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES TO SELL THAT CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND PRESENTLY SEATING THE RED CROSS HEADQUARTERS BUILDING TO THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL RED CROSS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The President of the Philippines is hereby authorized to sell to the Philippine National Red Cross for the nominal price of one peso the parcel of land owned by the National Government on which the headquarters building of the Red Cross is now built and which is described as follows:

"A parcel of land (lot No. 1 of the subdivision plan Psd-2116), being a portion of lot No. 1, block No. 353 of the cadastral survey of Manila, situated in the District of Ermita, City of Manila, Island of Luzon. Bounded on the southeast, by properties of the American Bible Society (lot No. 11, block 353), Leopoldo Khan (lot No. 3-B Psd-4246), and Perez Bartolo (lot No. 2, block 353); on the west, by lot No. 14 of the subdivision plan; and on the northwest, by Calle Isaac Peral. Beginning at a point marked 1 on plan, being S. 61' 11' S., 61.45 m. from B.L.L.M. No. 47, thence N. 8' 46 E., 27.22 m. to point 2; thence N. 71', 24' E., 51.00 m. to point 3; thence S. 21' 26' E., 0.52 m. to Point 4; thence S. 50' 30' W., 11.29 m. to point 5; thence S. 51' 05' W., 56.51 m. to the point of beginning; containing an area of six hundred thirty six and three tenths square meters (636.3), more or less. All point referred to are indicated on the plan and on the ground; point "1" is marked by galvanized iron spike on wall; point 3 by galvanized iron spike; and point 5, by galvanized iron spike on wall. Bearing true; declination variable. Date of subdivision survey, April 29, 1929. Note-Lot No. 1-A-Lot No. 1-new.

A parcel of land (Lot No. 14 of the subdivision plan Psd-2116), being a portion of Lot No. 1, block No. 353 of the cadastral survey of Manila, situated in the District of Rrmita, City of Manila, Island of Luzon. Bounded on the east, by lot No. 1 of the subdivision plan: on the southwest by Calle General Luna; and on the northwest, by Calle Isaac Peral. Beginning at a point marked 1 on plan, being S. 61' IV E., 61.45 m. from B.L.L.M. No. 47, thence N. 59" 80' W., 31.99 m. to point 2; thence N. 71' 24' E., 33.46 m. to point 3; thence S. 8' 46' W., 27.22 to the point of beginning; containing an area of four hundred four and four-tenths square meters (404.4), more or less. All points referred to are indicated on the plan and on the ground; point "1" is marked by galvanized iron spike on wall; and point "2", by galvanized iron spike. Bearing true, declination, variable. Date of subdivision survey, April 29, 1929. Note-Lot No. 1-B-Lot No. 14.

Section 2. The sale of said parcel of land shall be subject to the following conditions which shall be embodied in the contract of sale:

1. That the Philippine National Red Cross shall not transfer the parcel of land without the previous authorization by the President of the Philippines nor encumber the same except to government-owned or controlled corporations ;

2. That the land shall not be used for any purpose or activity other than that to which it is orginally intended;

3. That violation of any of these conditions shall automatically revert the land to the National Government.

Section 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.1a⍵⍴h!1
