[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5642, June 21, 1969 ]

AN ACT CREATING THE MUNICIPALITY NARRA, PROVINCE OF PALAWAN

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The barrios of Malatgao, Tinagong-dagat, Taritien, Antipoloan, Teresa, Panacan, Narra, Caguisan, Batang-batang, Bato-bato, Barirao, Malinao, Sandoval, Dumagueiia, El Vita, Calategas, Arumayuan, Tacras, Borirao and that part of Barrio Abo-abo now belonging to the Municipality of Aborlan, Province of Palawan, are separated from said municipality and constituted into a distinct and independent municipality, to be known as the Municipality of Narra. The seat of the new municipality shall be in the present site of Barrio Narra.

Section 2. The Mayor of the Municipality of Aborlan elected in the elections of November 15, 1967, shall be the mayor of the said Municipality of Narra. The vice-mayor of Aborlan elected in the last elections shall be the mayor of Aborlan. The councilor who obtained the highest number of votes in the last elections shall be the vice-mayor of Narra and the one who obtained the second highest shall be the vice-mayor of Aborlan. The appointment of councilors to fill the vacant positions in both municipalities shall be made in accordance with the provisions of Republic Act Numbered Five thousand one hundred eighty-five.

Section 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.1a⍵⍴h!1
