[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5505, June 21, 1969 ]

AN ACT CONVERTING AURORA PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL INTO AURORA GENERAL HOSPITAL, INCREASING ITS BED CAPACITY TO SEVENTY-FIVE, ESTABLISHING THEREIN A SCHOOL OF NURSING AND MIDWIFERY, AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR.

Be it enacted, by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The Aurora Provincial Hospital in the Municipality of Aurora, Province of Zamboanga del Sur, is hereby converted into a general hospital to be known as Aurora General Hospital. The bed capacity of this hospital is hereby increased to seventy-five beds.

Section 2. There shall be established in Aurora General Hospital a School of Nursing and Midwifery: Provided, That the course in Midwifery be first established and the course in Nursing shall be  offered only if the bed occupancy has reached eighty percent.

Section 3. The Secretary of Health shall tissue the necessary rules and regulations for the implementation of this Act.

Section 4. The sum of one hundred thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to carry the provisions of this Act for the fiscal year nineteen  hundred and sixty-eight to nineteen hundred and sixty, nine. Thereafter, such sums as may be necessary for the operation and maintenance shall be included in the annual General Appropriations  Act.

Section 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.1a⍵⍴h!1
