[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5479, June 21, 1969 ]

AN ACT FIXING THE SALARY OF JUDGES OF THE COURTS OF FIRST INSTANCE AND OF THE PRESIDING JUSTICE AND JUSTICES OF THE COURT OF APPEALS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The annual salary of judges of the Courts of First Instance is hereby fixed at twenty-three thousand pesos; that of justices of the Court of Appeals at twenty-eight thousand pesos; and that of the presiding justice of the Court of Appeals at thirty thousand pesos.

Section 2. The annual salary herein-above fixed shall not apply to offices other than those of judges of the Courts of First Instance, presiding justice and justices of the Court of Appeals, notwithstanding any provision of law assimilating the salaries of other offices to those herein mentioned.

Section 3. The sum of two million pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to provide for the salary increase authorized in Section one hereof.

Section 4. All laws or parts thereof inconsistent with the Provisions of this Act are hereby amended accordingly.

Section 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.1a⍵⍴h!1
