REPUBLIC ACT No. 4051

An Act Converting Sabani Estate Rural School in the Municipality of Gabaldon, Province of Nueva Ecija, into a College to be Known as the Nueva Ecija Institute of Agriculture, and Authorizing the Appropriation of Funds Therefor

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:

Section 1. The Sabani Estate Rural School located in the Municipality of Gabaldon, Province of Nueva Ecija, is hereby converted into a college to be known as the Nueva Ecija Institute of Agriculture.

Section 2. The institute shall offer, in addition to the secondary agricultural curriculum, any or all of the following collegiate courses at the discretion of the Director of Vocational Education:

(a) Two-year technical agriculture leading to the title of Associate in Agriculture;

(b) Four-year technical agriculture leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture; and

(c) Four-year teacher education leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Education.1âшphi1

Section 3. The institute shall be headed by a superintendent under the Bureau of Vocational Education. He shall have the same powers and duties with respect to the institute as are now vested in the Principal of Sabani Estate Rural School, as well as such as may be vested in him by the Director of Vocational Education.

Section 4. The sum of two hundred thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the operation and maintenance of the institute, in addition to the present national appropriation for the school. Thereafter the necessary sum for the operation and maintenance of the college shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

Section 5. The Secretary of Education is hereby empowered to reorganize the present Sabani Estate Rural School into a college, as herein provided.

Section 6. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
