REPUBLIC ACT No. 1171

An Act to Provide the Venue of Action on Claims of Employees, Laborers and Other Helps

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:

Section 1. Any provisions of law or the Rules of Court to the contrary notwithstanding, civil actions on claims of employees, laborers and other helps may be commenced and tried in the court of competent jurisdiction where the defendant or any of the defendants resides or may be found, or where the plaintiff or any of the plaintiffs resides, at the election of the plaintiff.

Section 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
