REPUBLIC ACT No. 246

An Act Appropriating Fifty Thousand Pesos to Defray the Expenses of a State Funeral for Manuel Roxas and for the Erection of a Temporary Mausoleum to Contain His Remains

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:

WHEREAS, Manuel Roxas, President of the Philippines, who died on the fifteenth day of April, nineteen hundred and forty-eight, dedicated his life and labors to the service of his country.1awp++i1

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that his remains be laid to rest in a manner that will perpetuate his memory and express our people’s love and respect for him: Now, therefore,

Section 1. The sum of fifty thousand pesos, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the Philippine Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to defray the expenses of a state funeral for Manuel Roxas, the late President of the Philippines, and for the erection of a temporary mausoleum to contain the remains of the great leader.

Section 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
