LIFTING THE STATE OF CALAMITY IN VISAYAS AND MINDANAO

WHEREAS, Proclamation No. 1898 (dated 02 October 2009) declared a state of national calamity in view of the tremendous damage to lives and properties and massive displacement caused by typhoon “Ondoy” and in preparation for the then impending hazards and devastations of typhoon “Pepeng”;

WHEREAS, after consultation with pertinent officers of the Office of the Civil Defense and the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration – Department of Science and Technology (PAGASA-DOST), the Department of National Defense Secretary and concurrent National Disaster Coordinating Council Chair recommends that the state of calamity be lifted in Visayas and Mindanao;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby lift the state of national calamity in Visayas and Mindanao.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
