DECLARING MONDAY, MARCH 17, 2008, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN DAVAO CITY

WHEREAS, March 16, 2008 marks the celebration of the “71st Araw ng Dabaw”, which falls on a Sunday;

WHEREAS, to enable the people of the City of Davao celebrate the occasion, the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Davao City requested that Monday, March 17, 2008 instead of March 16, 2008, be declared as a special (non-working) day;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of Davao City be given full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Monday, March 17, 2008, as special (non-working) day in Davao City.1aшphi1
