DECLARING MARCH 10 AS “ARAW NG MGA BUNTIS”

WHEREAS, the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society (Foundation), Inc. (POGS), is an organization with competent, compassionate, God-fearing Obstetrician-Gynecologists committed to serve the Filipino people by advancing the art and science of reproductive health, enhancing professional growth and the welfare of its members through training and research, fostering womens advocacy programs and upholding the highest ethical standards of practice through excellent health care delivery;

WHEREAS, the POGS, in coordination with the Department of Health aims to bring recognition to all pregnant women who are considered as heroes in their own rights by bringing another life into the world;

WHEREAS, the POGS resolves to recognize this long neglected sector of the society with the-celebration of Araw ng mga Buntis, which will provide a concrete venue for information gathering, learning experience, stimulating discussion and challenging interactions;

WHEREAS, it is necessary to give emphasis on the needs of the pregnant women in conjunction with the celebration of the Womens Health Month;

WHEREAS, the Araw ng mga Buntis will help build a stronger partnership between the POGS and the pregnant women in achieving a healthy pregnancy.1aшphi1

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law,. do hereby declare March 10 as “Araw ng mga Buntis” under the auspices of the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society (Foundation), Inc.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
