DECLARING MONDAY, 18 JANUARY 1999 AS MUSLIM HOLIDAY IN OBSERVANCE OF EIDL FITR 1419 MARKING THE CULMINATION OF THE FASTING MONTH OF RAMADHAN

WHEREAS, pertinent provisions of Presidential Decree 1083, recognize the system of Filipino Muslim laws, and codifies Muslim personal laws;

WHEREAS, the Office of Muslim Affairs, upon consultations made with representatives of the Ulama (religious) sector, has declared that 18 January 1999 marks the observance/celebration of EidL Fitr 1419 Hijrah;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare “Monday, 18 January 1999 as Muslim holiday in observance of EidL Fitr 1419 marking the culmination of the fasting month of Ramadhan.”
