[ Proclamation No. 221, December 10, 1999 ]

AUTHORIZING THE BOY SCOUTS OF THE PHILIPPINES TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR

WHEREAS, under Proclamation No. 20, series of 1998, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) was authorized to conduct a national fund campaign during the period from September 23, 1998 to September 22, 1999;

WHEREAS, the noble and laudable purposes of the BSP deserves the full support of every Filipino and resident in the country; and

WHEREAS, BSP needs additional time to enable it to raise more funds to attain its laudable goal;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Boy Scouts of the Philippines to conduct a national fund campaign for a period of one (1) year, effective upon the promulgation of this Proclamation.

I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, regardless of race or creed, to actively support and give generously of their time and resources to the cause of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.
