[ Proclamation No. 178, September 22, 1999 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM SEPTEMBER 27 to 30, 1999 AND EVERY YEAR THEREAFTER AS “MANAGEMENT CONSCIOUSNESS WEEK”

WHEREAS, the Philippine Council of Management (PHILCOMAN) is sponsoring the 31st Management Congress on September 30, 1999 at the Manila Hotel, with the theme “MANAGEMENT INTEGRATION: A MILLENNIUM DIRECTION” which will be attended by management experts and practitioners from the government, private sector, educators and students.

WHEREAS, management consciousness is essential to the promotion of better business practices, increased productivity and improve public administration and services, which are vital prerequisites to economic development and progress;

WHEREAS, there is a need to promote management consciousness in both the public and private sectors to help achieve the development goals of the nation;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from September 27 to 30, 1999 and every year thereafter as “Management Consciousness Week” under the auspices of the Philippine Council of Management and other concerned organization.1aшphi1

I call upon all management practitioners, educators and students to give the observance of the week their full support.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
