DECLARING 09-15 AUGUST 1999 ASESTRADA
President
Repub “PHILIPPINES-REPUBLIC OF KOREA FRIENDSHIP WEEK”

WHEREAS, Monday, 09 August 1999, marks the onset of the 50th year celebration of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines and the Government of the Republic of Korea;

WHEREAS, Philippine relations with the Republic of Korea are among the oldest and most fruitful in Philippine history;

WHEREAS, the Republic of Korea ranks as one of the major trading partners of the Philippines and hosts a sizeable number of Filipino expatriates;

WHEREAS, it is fitting that the people of the Republic of the Philippines be given full opportunity to appreciate and commemorate the golden jubilee of Philippines-Republic of Korea diplomatic relations;

NOW THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare 09-15 August 1999 as “Philippines-Republic of Korea Friendship Week”.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
