[ Proclamation No. 109, May 10, 1999 ]

DECLARING MAY 28 OF EACH YEAR AS A SPECIAL NON-WORKING HOLIDAY IN THE ENTIRE PROVINCE OF TARLAC, IN OBSERVANCE OF ITS FOUNDATION DAY TO BE DESIGNATED AS “ARAW NG LALAWIGANG TARLAK”

WHEREAS, the evolvement of Tarlac into an independent socio-political unit and its subsequent proclamation on 28 May 1873 as a Province, have always been a cherished milestone for its founders and its inhabitants;

WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary to commemorate this historical event as a continuing tribute to Tarlacs forefathers and heroes, to the end that this present and future generations of Tarlacqueños, will imbibe the same customs, virtues, courage, nationalism and independence handed down to them by their ancestors; and,

WHEREAS, it is the aspiration of the people of Tarlac, to dedicate one day of each year to celebrate and re-live Tarlacs glorious past through meaningful activities.

NOW THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare May 28 of each year as a special non-working holiday in the entire province of Tarlac, in observance of its Foundation Day to be designated as “Araw ng Lalawigang Tarlak”.1aшphi1

This proclamation shall take effect immediately.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
