[ Proclamation No. 101, March 31, 1999 ]

DECLARING APRIL 28 OF EVERY YEAR AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE CITY OF LAPU-LAPU

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 3134 created the former Municipality of Opon into a City of Lapu-Lapu;

WHEREAS, thenceforth the citizenry of the City of Lapu-Lapu has been consistently observing April 28 as their Charter Day Anniversary;

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the citizenry of the City of Lapu-Lapu be given full opportunity to celebrate this event with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me, do hereby declare April 28 of every year as a Special Day in the City of Lapu-Lapu.
