DECLARING JULY 15, 1994, AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE CORDILLERA ADMINISTRATIVE REGION
WHEREAS, on July 15, 1989, Executive Order No. 220 created the Cordillera Administrative Region comprising Abra, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga-Apayao, Mountain Province, and the City of Baguio;
WHEREAS, on this historic day, the Cordillera people secured their demands for administrative decentralization, which they have been struggling to achieve for more than half a century;
WHEREAS, there is a need to focus attention on the historic significance of the occasion;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by Book I, Chapter 7, Section 27, of the Administrative Code of 1987, do hereby declare Friday, July 15, 1994, as a special day in the Cordillera Administrative Region.1aшphi1
