[ Proclamation No. 1201, October 30, 1973 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM OCTOBER 25 TO 31, 1973, AS ANIMAL AND PET WEEK.

WHEREAS, animal and other pets have brought joy and consolation to man; and

WHEREAS, it is desirable to inculcate in the minds and hearts of our youth the virtues of kindness and mercy to our animal and other pets which have delighted humanity from time immemorial;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period from October 25 to 31, 1973 as Animal and Pet Week under the auspices of the Philippine Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
