[ Proclamation No. 1146, May 23, 1973 ]

AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE TUBERCULOSIS SOCIETY, INC. TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL AND FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM JULY 1 TO DECEMBER 31, 1973

WHEREAS, the right to good health of every Filipino is guaranteed in the new Constitution of the Philippines and is a primordial objective of the New Society;

WHEREAS, Tuberculosis is the most serious threat to public health and a disease that impoverishes the country in terms of human suffering, economic loss and social deprivations; and

WHEREAS, the combined efforts of the National Government and the Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Inc. toward the control of TB can succeed only if the whole nation extends maximum moral and financial support;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby authorize the Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Inc.1aшphi1 to conduct its national educational and fund campaign during the period from July 1 to December 31, 1973.

I call upon all government officials, military personnel, private and public school authorities and students, and all citizens and residents of the Philippines, regardless of nationality or creed, to support and give generously of their means to the Anti-TB cause so as to hasten control of this deadly and highly communicable disease and thereby enhance further the general public health.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
