DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM AUGUST 21 TO 27, 1972 AS CIVIL ENGINEERING WEEK.

WHEREAS, by reason of the destructions caused by heavy rains, floods and typhoons the country is now undergoing a period of rehabilitation and reconstruction;

WHEREAS, during this period of rehabilitation and reconstruction the role played by the Civil Engineering profession cannot be over-emphasized; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to focus the attention of the public on the important role played by the Civil Engineering profession in the rehabilitation and reconstruction effort of our country;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare August 21 to 27, 1972, as Civil Engineering Week.
