DECLARING WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 9, 1972, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN ILOCOS NORTE AND LAOAG CITY.

WHEREAS, the ninth day of August is the birthday of the late Governor Roque B. Ablan, an outstanding resistance leader of the occupation; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the people of Ilocos Norte, his birthplace, should be given full opportunity to celebrate his birthday with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare Wednesday, August 9, 1972, as a special public holiday in the province of Ilocos Norte and in the City of Laoag.
