DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JUNE 19 TO AUGUST 19, 1972, FOR THE 1972 FUND CAMPAIGN OF THE VOTERS ORGANIZATION FOR INFORMATION AND CIVIC EDUCATION (VOICE)

WHEREAS, the “Voters Organization for Information and Civic Education” (VOICE) is a civic entity formed for the purpose of better enlightening the electorate on election matters and the necessity for clean elections and to prepare a specific program of action which will involve the schools, media, government as well as private groups in the campaign of information relative to elections;

WHEREAS, the said organization depends greatly upon voluntary public contributions to carry out its duties and discharge its responsibilities; and

WHEREAS, VOICE has, in its short existence on the contemporary scene, shown its determination in enhancing the interest of clean, free, orderly and honest elections, thus promoting the electorate’s welfare and that of the Nation;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period from June 19 to August 19, 1972, for the 1972 fund campaign of the Voters Organization for Information and Civic Education (VOICE). I call upon all citizens and residents of the country to help actively in this campaign by giving generously of their means, time and effort in order to realize the aims and purposes of said organization.
