[ Proclamation No. 1021, June 5, 1972 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JUNE 20 TO 27, 1972, AS “NATIONAL INTEGRATION WEEK”

WHEREAS, it is the declared government policy to integrate and assimilate the cultural minorities into the national mainstream; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to focus national attention on the cultural minorities and enhance mutual understanding and respect for each other’s culture;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, in recognition of the necessity of effecting in a more rapid and complete manner the economic, social, moral and political advancement of the cultural minorities and their integration into the body politic, do hereby declare the period from June 20 to 27, 1972, as “National Integration Week” under the auspices of the Commission on National Integration.
