DESIGNATING THE YEARS 1971, 1972, AND 1973 AS GOLDEN JUBILEE YEARS OF SCOUTING IN THE PHILIPPINES.1aшphi1

WHEREAS, Scouting, introduced to the Philippines forty-seven years ago, will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 1973;

WHEREAS, in the intervening years since its introduction the Movement has demonstrated its value as an instrument for the training of the nation’s youth and has contributed materially to the development of a strong Filipino citizenship; and

WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines, through its Golden Jubilee Board and Committees is undertaking long-term projects and programs designed to prepare the Movement for even greater and more significant national and community involvement in the coming years by providing youth with opportunities for meaningful service to community and nation;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, in order to focus the nation’s attention on the important and far-reaching effects of Scouting in the Philippines, do hereby designate the Years 1971, 1972, and 1973 as Golden Jubilee Years of Philippines Scouting.

IN WITNESS WHEREFORE, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
