[ Proclamation No. 684, June 28, 1960 ]

DECLARING JULY 1, 1960, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF SOUTHERN LEYTE

WHEREAS, the inauguration of the new province of Southern Leyte will take place on July 1, 1960, in accordance with Republic Act No. 2227;

WHEREAS, it is desirable that the people of said province be given full opportunity to celebrate such an important event;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carlos P. Garcia, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the authority vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare July 1, 1960, as a special public holiday in the province of Southern Leyte.
