[ Proclamation No. 677, June 7, 1960 ]

CALLING THE CONGRESS OF THE PHILIPPINES TO A SPECIAL SESSION

Whereas, the public interest demands that the Congress of the Philippines be convened in special session to enable both chambers thereof to assemble in joint session for the purpose of considering proposals to amend the Constitution of the Philippines and other urgent legislative measures;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carlos P. Garcia, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby call the Congress of the Philippines to a special session for such number of days as may be necessary, but not to exceed thirty days, commencing at ten o’clock in the morning of the fourteenth day of June, nineteen hundred and sixty, to consider proposals to amend the Constitution of the Philippines and such other urgent legislative measures as I may submit.

All persons entitled to sit as members of the Congress of the Philippines are requested to take notice of this proclamation.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 7th day of June, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the fourteenth.
