RESERVING FOR CITY HIGH SCHOOL AND FIRE STATION SITE PURPOSES CERTAIN PORTIONS OF THE PRIVATE DOMAIN OF THE GOVERNMENT IN EXCHANGE FOR CERTAIN PROPERTIES OF THE CITY OF MANILA TO BE CONVENED TO THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT FOR EXTENSION SITE OF THE MANILA HOTEL, SITUATED IN THE DISTRICT OF INTRAMUROS, CITY OF MANILA, ISLAND OF LUZON.

WHEREAS, the National Government is the owner in fee simple of two parcels of land situated in the District of Intramuros, City of Manila, one being more particularly identified as lot No. 1-B of the subdivision survey plan Psd-53518, being a portion of the parcel of land described in Original Certificate of Title No. 4938 of the Register of Deeds of the City of Manila, containing an area of 689.80 square meters, and the other as lot No. 1 of block No. 52 of the Manila Cadastre, containing a total area of 27,242.10 square meters;

WHEREAS, the City of Manila is likewise the owner of two parcels of land situated in the district of Ermita, City of Manila, one being identified as lot No. 2-B and the other as lot No. 2-C of the subdivision survey plan Psd-14000 being a portion of a parcel of land described in Transfer Certificate of Title No. 9333, containing a total area of 11,663.40 square meters;

WHEREAS, the Manila Hotel Company, a subsidiary of the Manila Railroad Company, a corporation owned and controlled by the Republic of the Philippines, is occupying the above-mentioned two parcels of land owned by the City of Manila;

WHEREAS, the General Manager of the Manila Railroad Company, in behalf of the Manila Hotel and the Mayor of the City of Manila, have come to an agreement whereby the latter will convey its title to the land to the National Government in consideration of the reservation of the two parcels of land owned by the Republic of the Philippines for the use of the City of Manila for City High School and Fire Station Sites; and

WHEREAS, the proposed exchange is to the mutual advantage of the parties.1aшphi1

NOW, THEREFORE, upon the recommendation of the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources and pursuant to the power vested in me by law, I, Carlos P. Garcia, President of the Philippines, do hereby withdraw from sale and settlement and reserve for City High School and Fire Station Site purposes under the administration of the Bureau of Public Schools and the City of Manila, respectively, subject to private rights, if any there be, certain portions of the private domain of the government situated in the district of Intramuros, City of Manila, Island of Luzon, and more particularly described as follows:

Lot 1, block 52, Manila Cadastre

A parcel of land (Lot 1 of block 52 of the cadastral survey of Manila, L.R.C. Cadastral Record No. ———), situated in the district of Intramuros, City of Manila. Bounded on the NW., and N., along lines 1-2-3 by Calle Victoria on the NE., along line 3-4-5 by Calle General Luna; on the SE., along lines 5-6-7-8-9 by Calle Muralla; and on the SW., along lines 9-10-11-1 by Calle Sta. Lucia. Beginning at a point marked 1 on plan being S 24° 35' E., 577.84 meters from B.L.L.M, 41, Manila Cadastre, thence S. 54° 48' W., 148.24 meters to point 2; thence S. 84° 33' E., 3.76 meters to point 3; thence S. 40° 16' E., 120.45 meters to point 4; thence S. 37° 47' E., 50.37 meters to point 5; thence S. 7° 13' W., 4.54 meters to point 6; thence S. 52° 03' W., 29.21 meters to point 7; thence S. 62° 21' W., 8.30 meters to point 8; thence S. 62° 42' W., 122.12 meters to point 9; thence, N. 58° 11' W., 8.12 meters to point 10; thence, N. 36° 40' W., 147.72 meters to point 11; and thence, N. 9° 13' E., 6.24 meters to point 1, point of beginning; containing an area of 27,242.10 square meters and decimeters. All points referred to are indicated on the plan and are marked on the ground by old corners; bearings true; date of the cadastral survey, May, 1915.

A parcel of land (Lot 1-B of the subdivision plan Psd-53518, being a portion of lot 1, block 9 of the cadastral survey of the City. of Manila, L.R.C. Cadastral Record No. ———), situated in the district of Intramuros, City of Manila. Bounded on the SW., along line 1-2 by lot 1-A of the subdivision plan; on the NW., and NE., along lines 2-3-4-5-6 by lot 3, block 9, Manila Cadastre; on the NE., along lines 6-7-8 by lot 2, block 9, Manila Cadastre; and on the SE., along line 8-1 by lot 6, block 9, Manila Cadastre. Beginning at a point marked 1 on plan, being N. 47° 28' E., 28.25 meters from Fire Hydrant 1, City of Manila; thence, N. 42° 35' W.,40.07 meters to point 2; thence, N. 46° 45' E., 0.70 meters to point 3; thence, N. 46° 31' E., 14.52 meters to point 4; thence, S. 41° 31' E., 8.61 meters to point 5; thence, N. 49 ° 10' E., 3.38 meters to point 6; thence, S. 39° 40' E., 9.07 meters to point 7; thence S. 40° 10' E., 22.61 meters to point 8; and thence, S. 47° 39' W., 17.02 meters to point 1, point of beginning; containing an area of 689.80 square meters and decimeters. All points referred to are indicated on the plan and marked on the ground as follows: points 1 and 2 by P.L.S. Cyl. Conc. Mons.; points 5, 6 and 7 by old corners and the rest by old P.L.S. Conc. Mons.; bearings true; date of the original survey, May, 1915 and that of the subdivision survey, March 18, 1953, executed by Ricardo L. Cortez, Private Land Surveyor. Date of Approval, May 20, 1958.

Upon the reservation of the said land, the City of Manila shall execute the necessary deed of conveyance of the two lots aforementioned to the National Government which shall be reserved for hotel extension site of the Manila Hotel.
