MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Proclamation No. 660, March 24, 1960 ] DECLARING MONDAY, MARCH 28, 1960, AS SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCES OF SULU, COTABATO, ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE, ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR, DAVAO, LANAO DEL NORTE, LANAO DEL SUR, BUKIDNON, PALAWAN, AGUSAN, AND SURIGAO, AND IN THE CITIES OF ZAMBOANGA, BASILAN, DAVAO, ILIGAN, MARAWI, BUTUAN, AND COTABATO In connection with the feast of Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the most important holidays for Muslims, I, Carlos P. Garcia, President of the Philippines, pursuant to the authority vested .in me by section 30 of the-Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Monday, March 28, 1960, as a special public holiday in the provinces of Sulu, Cotabato. Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Davao, Lanao, del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Bukidnon, Palawan, Agusan, and Surigao, and in the cities of Zamboanga, Basilan, Davao, Iligan, Marawi, Butuan, and Cotabato. Muslim officials and employees of the Government, both national and local, performing their duties and functions outside of the provinces and cities above stated, shall be exempted from duty during this feast day which, for purposes of this proclamation, shall be considered as a special public holiday for said officials and employees in their respective stations, IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.1aшphi1 Done in the City of Manila, this 24th day of March, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the fourteenth.
