[ Proclamation No. 640, January 19, 1960 ]

DECLARING THE THIRD WEEK OF FEBRUARY OF EVERY YEAR AS LIVESTOCK AND POULTRY PRODUCTION WEEK

WHEREAS, in order to encourage the production of livestock and poultry, one of the, basic industries of our country, it is necessary to set aside a period during which the people’s attention may be focused on the necessity of producing more and better animals and poultry for breeding, meat, and work purposes;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carlos P. Garcia, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the third week, from Monday to Sunday, of February of every year as Livestock and Poultry Production Week.

The Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources, through the Bureau of Animal Industry, shall take care of and coordinate all activities in connection with the celebration of the said week.

Proclamation No. 236 dated December 19, 1955, is hereby revoked.
