AUTHORIZING THE ATTENDANCE OF GOVERNMENT LAWYERS IN THE 15TH BIENNIAL CONFERENCE OF THE LAW ASSOCIATION OF ASIA AND THE PACIFIC (LAWASIA) IN THE CITY OF MANILA

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines will sponsor the 15th Biennial Conference of the Law Association of Asia and the Pacific (LAWASIA) on August 26 to 31, 1997 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Manila. This Convention aims to update lawyers with developments in law and rules on investments, intellectual property, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, securities and derivatives and enforcement of foreign judgments.

In this connection, heads of departments and agencies of the government may authorize the attendance of not more than two (2) lawyers per agency to the said convention on official time with entitlement to registration fee, subject to availability of funds and the usual accounting and auditing requirements. Provided, there will be no disruption of normal office activities/services in their respective offices by reason thereof.

The participants shall submit to their respective agency heads a complete report on their attendance or participation in the conference. Likewise, the IBP is requested to submit to this Office and the Civil Service Commission a general report and evaluation of the conference, including a list, by offices, of participants therein.1aшphi1
