ATTACHING THE NATIONAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND COMMUNICATIONS (DOTC) TO THE COMMISSION ON INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY (CICT)

WHEREAS, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) is attached to the Department of Transportation and Communications;

WHEREAS, Section 20, Chapter 7, Title I, Book III of EO 292 (Administrative Code of 1987) provides that the President has the continuing authority to reorganize the Executive Branch of government;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order:

Section 1. The National Telecommunications Commission is hereby attached from the Department of Transportation and Communications to the Commission on Information and Communications Technology.

Section 2. All executive issuances, rules and regulations, or parts thereof, inconsistent with this Executive Order are hereby repealed, amended or modified accordingly.1aшphi1

Section 3. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately upon its publication in a national newspaper of general circulation.
