[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 485, October 31, 1991 ]

FURTHER EXTENDING THE OPERATIONAL EXISTENCE OF THE CENTRAL VISAYAS REGIONAL PROJECTS OFFICE (CVRPO) AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

WHEREAS, the Central Visayas Regional Project Office needs additional time to ensure the continuing adoption of community-based resource management techniques in all the municipalities of Region VII;

WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 362, series of 1989, extended the life of the Central Visayas Regional Projects Office (CVRPO) to December 31, 1991 for the completion of on-going World Bank-assisted projects under WB Loan No. 2360-PH;

WHEREAS, the Central Visayas Regional Development Council, through Resolution No. 03, series of 1991, has requested the President for the further extension of the operational existence of the Central Visayas Regional Projects Office to ensure the completion of all its projects;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order:

Section 1. The operational existence of the Central Visayas Regional Projects Office (CVRPO) created under Executive Order No. 907, series of 1983, is hereby further extended until December 31, 1992 for the following purposes:

(1) Completion of the remaining activities as approved for World Bank funding;

(2) Phasing-in of the local government units and the regular line agencies towards sustaining the CVRPO's accomplishments beyond the loan closing date; and

(3) Completion of all winding-up activities.

Section 2. Subject to organizational management and budgetary and accounting guidelines as may be promulgated, the Central Visayas Regional Projects Board, shall continue to perform its powers and responsibilities in accordance with the applicable provisions of Executive Order 907, series of 1983, and Executive Orders Nos. 362 and 353, series of 1989.

Section 3. The Regional Development Council of Region VII and the CVR Projects Board shall insure that all terms and conditions embodied in the Loan Agreement (World Bank Loan 2360-PH) are strictly complied with.

Section 4. After the completion of the remaining projects and the winding-up activities, the remaining funds or appropriations, if any, as well as the properties, assets, records and equipment of the Central Visayas Regional Projects Office (CVRPO) shall be transferred to the Central Visayas Regional Development Council.

Section 5. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
