[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 345, October 29, 1971 ]

CREATING THE NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR THE SECOND DEVELOPMENT DECADE

By virtue of the powers vested in me by law and in order to bring about a fuller appreciation of the efforts made by the Philippines and other developing countries to improve their social and economic conditions and to mobilize public opinion in support of the goals and objectives of the International Development Strategy for the Second Development Decade of the United Nations, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby create the “National Commission for the Second Development Decade” under the National Economic Council.

The Commission shall be composed of the following:

Chairman of the National Economic Council Chairman

The heads of the Presidential Economic Staff, Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Department of Commerce and Industry and Board of Investments, or their representatives  Members

The Commission shall implement in the Philippines the goals and objectives of the United Nations International Development Strategy for the Second Development Decade.

The Commission is authorized to call directly upon any department, bureau, or office in the executive branch of the government or upon any government-owned or controlled entity or agency for such assistance as the Commission may need, and to requisition for, utilize, and make use of, the services of their personnel.

Done in the City of Manila, this 29th day of October, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-one.
