[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 340, September 16, 1971 ]

PROHIBITING THE CARRYING OF FIREARMS OUTSIDE RESIDENCE

In the interest of peace and order, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested upon me by law, do hereby prohibit the carrying of firearms outside residence, except by those who are authorized to carry or who may be issued permit to carry as provided in Executive Order No. 56 dated December 29, 1966, as amended by Executive Order No. 231 dated May 7, 1970.

Violation of this order shall be ground for confiscation of the firearm.

This order shall take effect fifteen (15) days after publication in the Official Gazette.ℒαwρhi৷

Done in the City of Manila, this 16th day of September, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-one.
