[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 207, January 13, 1970 ]

CREATING A NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL

By virtue of the powers vested in me by law, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby create a National Development Council composed of the following:

Chairman: The President of the Philippines
Members: The Senate President
The Speaker of the House of Representatives
The leaders of the Majority and the Minority of both Houses of Congress.
The Presidents of the Political Parties who had candidates on a nationwide scale in the last national elections.
The Chairmen of the Committees of both Houses of Congress whose functions are relevant to the subject matter to be discussed in the Council.
The Members of the Cabinet the functions of whose departments are relevant to the subject matter to be discussed in the Council.

The National Development Council shall study, discuss, establish and implement economic, social and political development priorities, as well as particular developmental programs and projects.

The National Economic Council shall serve as Secretariat, assisted by the Presidential Economic Staff.

The Council may call upon any government department, bureau, office, agency or instrumentality for such assistance as it may need in the performance of its functions.
