[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 204, January 05, 1970 ]

CREATING A SPECIAL COMMITTEE TO CONDUCT PUBLIC HEARINGS IN CONNECTION WITH THE PROPOSED INCREASE OF WATER RATES BY THE NATIONAL WATERWORKS AND SEWERAGE AUTHORITY

By virtue of the power vested in me by law, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby create a special committee to conduct public hearings on the proposed increase of water rates of the National Waterworks and Sewerage Authority (NAWASA), composed of the following:

Hon. Armand C. Fabella Member
Hon. Placido Mapa, Jr. Member

The Committee may, in the performance of its functions, requests the assistance of any department, bureau, office, agency or instrumentality of the Government, including government-owned or controlled corporations.

The Committee is hereby vested all the powers of an investigating Committee under Sections 71 and 580 of the Revised Administrative Code, including the power to summon witnesses or take testimony or evidence relevant to the investigation by subpoena or subpoena duces tecum.

The Committee shall submit its report to the President within one month from the issuance of this Order.

Done in the City of Manila, this 5th day of January, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy.
