[ Executive Order No. 122, March 11, 1968 ]

CREATING THE PEACE AND ORDER COORDINATING COUNCIL

By virtue of the powers vested in me by law, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby create the Peace and Order Coordinating Council to be composed of the following:

The President of the Philippines Chairman
Secretary of Justice Vice-Chairman
Executive Secretary Member and Executive Secretary
Chairman, Police Commission Member
Chief of Constabulary Member
Director, National Bureau of Investigation Member
Representative of the Department of National Defense on Peace and Order Member

The Council shall coordinate the overall campaign against crime and for the maintenance of peace and order, with the end in view of removing obstacles in the path of each law-enforcing agency and facilitating concerted and coordinated action and expediting the prompt investigation and prosecution of criminal cases.

The Council shall meet once a week and shall report directly to the President.1aшphi1

It may call upon any department, bureau, office, agency or instrumentality of the government for such assistance as it may need in the discharge of its functions.

Full financial support shall be extended by the Secretary of Finance and the Commissioner of the Budget.

Done in the City of Manila, this 11th day of March, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty-eight.
