[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 46, September 11, 1963 ]

CONSOLIDATING AND REUNITING THE TERRITORIES OF THE MUNICIPALITIES OF POLO AND VALENZUELA INTO A MUNICIPALITY TO BE KNOWN AS VALENZUELA

By virtue of the powers vested in me by law, and in the interest of the public welfare, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, do hereby reunite the territories of the municipalities of Polo and Valenzuela in the Province of Bulacan into one municipality to be known as the Municipality of Valenzuela.

The seat of government of the new municipality of Valenzuela shall be in barrio Karuhatan situated in the present municipality of Valenzuela.

The elected municipal officers of the former municipality of Polo, before the segregation therefrom of the territory now comprised in the present municipality of Valenzuela by Executive Order No. 401, series of 1960, shall continue to hold office and be considered as mayor, vice-mayor, and councilors of the new municipality of Valenzuela until their successors shall have been duly elected and qualified in the general elections for provincial, municipal, and city officials next following the issuance of this Order.

All contractual and/or financial obligations of the present municipalities of Polo and Valenzuela shall be assumed by the new municipality of Valenzuela.

The new municipality of Valenzuela shall begin to function immediately upon receipt by the mayors of the municipalities of Polo and Valenzuela of copy of this Order.
