[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 221, June 07, 1949 ]

LIFTING THE BAN ON THE EXPORTATION OF LUMBER, AND TIMBER UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS

WHEREAS, it is necessary in the interest of the national economy to allow the free and unrestricted exportation of lumber and timber under certain conditions;

WHEREAS, it is at the same time imperative that the high quality of the lumber and timber to be exported be maintained;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ELPIDIO QUIRINO, President of the Philippines, do hereby allow the free and unrestricted exportation of lumber and timber, subject to the condition that no lumber or timber shall be exported unless the same is graded and inspected by an authorized Lumber Inspector of the Bureau of Forestry and a certificate of inspection, duly approved by the Director of Forestry, is issued therefor prior to shipment.

Executive Order No. 3, dated July 10, 1946, is hereby amended accordingly, and Executive Order No. 65, dated June 27, 1947, and other related orders pertaining to the control of the exportation of logs, flitches and sawn lumber are hereby repealed.
