EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 163

EXTENDING THE PERIOD FIXED IN ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 54, DATED MAY 7, 1948, WITHIN WHICH THE COMMITTEE CREATED TO EXAMINE THE ACTUAL CONDITIONS IN THE SURPLUS PROPERTY COMMISSION SHALL SUBMIT ITS REPORT AND AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRMAN, MEMBERS AND SUCH ASSISTANTS THEREOF AS THE PRESIDENT MAY AUTHORIZE, TO RECEIVE PER DIEMS

By virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution and pursuant to the provisions of the Emergency Powers Law, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, hereby extend up to September 30, 1948, the period fixed in Administrative Order No. 54, dated May 7, 1948, within which the Committee therein created to examine the actual conditions in the Surplus Property Commission shall submit its report and recommendations to the President.

The Chairman and the members of the Committee created in said Administrative Order No. 54, and such assistants thereof as the President may authorize, shall be paid such per diems, transportation and other expenses as may be fixed by the President payable from the funds of the Surplus Property Commission: Provided, That the Chairman, members and assistants of the Committee authorized to receive said per diems shall be entitled to the same in addition to their regular salaries in the case of government officials or employees actually, in the service or to their retirement gratuities in the case of those who have been retired.

This Order shall take effect as of May 7, 1948.
