[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 61, August 04, 1945 ]

REPEALING EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 38 AND REVIVING SECTION 1659 OF THE REVISED ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, AS AMENDED BY COMMONWEALTH ACT NO. 543.

WHEREAS, the restoration of the Bureau of Justice to its status and composition prior to the issuance of Executive Order No. 38, dated March 10, 1945, is now demanded by the interests of public service and the administration of justice, in view of the increased volume of work and the nature and importance of the cases handled by said Bureau, and of the present high cost of living.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, SERGIO OSMEŅA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the Philippines, do hereby order:

1. Executive Order No. 38, series of 1945, is hereby repealed.

2. The provisions of section 1659 of the Revised Administrative Code, as amended by section 1 of Commonwealth Act No. 543, are hereby restored and revived, and shall have full force and effect from the date of this Order.

3. All Acts or parts of Acts inconsistent with the provisions of this Executive Order are hereby repealed.

Done at the City of Manila, Philippines, this 4th day of August, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty-five, and of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, the tenth.
