[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 76, December 22, 1936 ]

CREATING THE BOARD OF FOOD INSPECTION

For the purpose of aiding in carrying out the provisions of Article XVII, Chapter Thirty-seven, of the Revised Administrative Code, there is hereby created a Board of Food Inspection to be composed of the chief, division of administration, Bureau of Health, as Chairman, and one representative from each of the following entities to be designated by the President from time to time, as members:1âшphi1

Bureau of Animal Industry;

School of Hygiene and Public Health, University of the Philippines;

Bureau of Customs; and

Bureau of Internal Revenue

The Board shall have the following duties:

(a) It shall give hearings on matters concerning the administration of the provisions of the law above-mentioned;

(b) It shall hear protest and appeals from decisions and rulings made under section eleven hundred and twenty-four of the Revised Administrative Code;

(c) It shall submit a report recommending food manufacture;

(d) It shall submit a report recommending food standards for adoption under the law; and

(e) It shall further have such functions, properly within the scope of the administration of the law, as may be assigned to it by the Director of Health.

The decisions of the Board shall be advisory to the Director of Health, and shall become final upon approval by the Secretary of Public Instruction.
