[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 34, June 01, 1936 ]

TRANSFERRING THE NAVIGATION DIVISION, DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND COMMERCE, TO THE BUREAU OF CUSTOMS, DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE

WHEREAS, by virtue of the provisions of Commonwealth Act Numbered Five, a Government Survey Board has been created for the purpose of recommending to the President needed reforms in the present organization of the Government; and

WHEREAS, the said Government Survey Board has recommended the transfer of the functions and duties heretofore performed by the Navigation Division, Department of Agriculture and Commerce, to the Bureau of Customs, Department of Finance;1âшphi1

NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution and existing laws and in pursuance of the provisions of Commonwealth Act Numbered Five, it is hereby directed that the functions and duties heretofore performed by the Navigation Division, Department of Agriculture and Commerce, with regard to the construction, repair, maintenance of buoys, beacons, lightships, navigation marks, and their appurtenances; and the general superintendence over the interisland water transportation, shall be performed by the Bureau of Customs, Department of Finance. The personnel, appropriations, vessels and other water craft, books, records, equipment, and other property of the Navigation Division of the Department of Agriculture and Commerce are hereby transferred to the Bureau of Customs, Department of Finance.
